What is Whole30?

When broken down simply, Whole30 is just that- Whole (foods) for 30 (days)!  Different foods affect different people in different ways (kind of a no-brainer, right?)!  Have you ever felt bloated or just flat out crappy after  having ice cream or a carb-overloaded meal?  Or what exactly caused that upset stomach and that feeling of lethargy?  This is your body's response to digesting the various nutrients (macro, micro, or lack-there-of) in any given food.  How do you know exactly what is affecting you in what way?  You don't and you won't until you "strip [certain foods] from your diet completely.  Cut out all the psychologically unhealthy, hormone-unbalancing, gut-disrupting, inflammatory food groups for a full 30 days.  Let your body heal and recover from whatever effects those foods may be causing. The Whole30 Program is so much more than a physical transformation, though!  It also focuses on the mental and emotional impact that food can have on people.  I can't say that I wasn't happy in the photo on the left (I mean check out that smile!)...I was in college studying what I wanted, hanging out with my friends and involved in all of my favorite extracurricular activities!  I can tell you though that I wasn't nourishing my body; I wasn't treating it well and I felt the effects- not sleeping well, feeling lazy and bogged down, etc., etc.!  The woman on the right can make the right food choices for HER body and feels amazing about the things I can accomplish with it!  And that, my friends, is the greatest feeling in the world.

My Favorite T-Shirt Dress









I am sure you guys have seen me post this dress from ASOS on our first blog post and in a couple Instagrams, but I simply cannot get over it! It is the most comfortable and lightweight t-shirt dress. I have it in three colors and I want more! It pairs so well with sandals for the summer and boots and a blanket scarf for fall! It is an all-season piece depending on how you style it! 

Also, that tassel necklace! I wear it all the time, and its from Target! Such a neutral piece that adds a little bit of flair to any outfit. 

I am winding down my last few weeks of summer vacation, so not looking forward to going back to work and waking up early! I am not a huge morning person. Any suggestions to help get back into the groove of waking up early?

Friday Instagram Round-up

Happy Friday!

Talia here with a Friday Fashion Round-up! I have been obsessed with swing dresses and t-shirt dresses this summer. It has been such a long heat wave, that wearing something simple, effortless, and cool has been a must. These are just two of my favorite dresses! I love the burgundy color and the grey t-shirt dress is just a must-have! Also, as per usual, these dresses will perfectly transition into my fall wardrobe with boots and scarves.  Can't wait to style them, but for right now my sandals will have to do! 


 

Another outfit that I wear constantly is this t-shirt and shorts combo. The t-shirt is so light-weight and the color is one of my favorites. I also, love how the necklace compliments the green color! I'm not usually a t-shirt person, but the way this one fits and feels makes me want to wear it everyday! 



Finally, I have a confession. I am a slightly over-organized neurotic person. So whenever I travel even it just for a night, a week, a weekend, I go insane if my suitcase is organized and packed correctly. It took me so long to find cases that I liked using, weren't terrible looking, and really organized all the products I use daily. On the left, is a travel case which perfectly fits my face-wash, my deodorant, my perfume, and lotions! It even hangs up nicely so you can really see what you have packed. On the right, is my jewelry case. This case really made me smile because of how light-weight it was and all the really awesome compartments to keep my jewelry organized and safe! Also, aren't these cases just so cute?! 


 

I am headed to a family BBQ tonight and the shore for the weekend tomorrow! Soaking up the last few beach days before heading back to my life as a teacher! What is every ones plans for the weekend? Are you guys as excited for fall fashion as I am?!

Hey Readers! My name is Talia and I am the "fashionista" of this blog. I am from South Jersey and a high school English teacher. Being in front of high schoolers every day, it is always imperative I look and feel my best. I strive to find affordable and amazing pieces whenever I go shopping, which is often. I love finding pieces that can easily be worn throughout the year. For example, this swing dress from ASOS is extremely light-weight for the summer, but paired with flats/boots and a scarf, it is a staple fall piece. Can't wait to share all my finds with you!
